Central Victorian Writers Scoop the Pool to Read with Christos Tsiolkas

Annie Drum goodMelinda KallasmaeBallarat writer Annie Drum, and Bendigo poet Melinda Kallasmae are the lucky two central Victorian writers to win a reading slot with Australia’s greatest living author Christos Tsiolkas at this year’s Newstead Short Story Tattoo. Annie is a Ballarat based writer whose work has appeared in anthologies and poetry chapbooks. Annie writes short stories and poetry, and is working on an adult novel and a young adult novel.  Annie will be reading her winning entry Tattoed Mother as well as other work. Melinda Kallasmae, a Bendigo poet, who submitted a beautiful, Sylvia Plath inspired work, entitled, Cover, has described her work as “poetry non-fiction”, and she will be reading a range of works.  These emerging voices will be showcased along with Christos Tsiolkas, Annabel Tellis (AKA Victoria Coverdale), and Neil Boyack, at the power packed Masters and Apprentices session, Sunday May 3, 11am, Newstead Community Centre.
